The Story
This engagement ring was created around a diamond with a history of its own, originally set in an antique brooch passed down through the family. Each brother would choose a stone from it for his engagement ring and, according to family history, the brooch may once have belonged to Madame du Barry.
The design draws on this heritage through a floral composition around the central diamond ; a subtle reference to her association with flowers. Cabochon emeralds introduce a more personal dimension, echoing both the wearer’s eye colour and her longstanding preference for emeralds.
The band, engraved with laurel-inspired motifs in 18k white gold, offers a further nod to her Italian origins. Entirely handcrafted in Belgium, the ring brings together family history and personal symbolism in a single, coherent piece.
