Siam Ruby

This engagement ring was created for a client who had originally hoped to propose with his grandmother’s ruby. When that stone was unfortunately lost, the commission became a way of carrying its meaning into something new.

He was looking for a ring with an organic feel, softened by rounded lines and diamonds set along the band. It needed to feel natural and fluid, without sharp angles, while still having presence. 

We chose a Siam ruby for its depth of colour and its rarity that resembles burmese ruby such as the ruby he had from his grandmother. Siam ruby are from a deposit that no longer produces those ruby which makes it very rare to still find some. 

Set in 18k yellow gold and entirely handcrafted in Belgium, the ring was shaped to feel movement, organic and that it can be set on a finger in a very femine way taking the shape of a fingfer.
